Your Building Can Be Part of the Just Transition!
Cleveland Solar Cooperative is looking for good sites for our community-owned solar array. Hosting an array is a great way for your building to go solar with no upfront cost to the host site. Our cooperative will finance the array, hire a firm to design and install the system, and perform ongoing maintenance.
To be partner to this arrangement, a host site will agree to buy the electricity our panels produce for a mutually-agreed upon and transparent price.
What Makes a Good Site?
As a cooperative, we want to put people and community first! We're looking for host organizations and/or people that believe in our values of democracy, solidarity, and a Just Transition. Physically, a good site for solar would be a new roof (flat or pitched) that is mostly south facing and unobstructed by nearby trees or buildings. Our projects utilize Ohio's net metering regulations and are also tied to the building's electricity consumption - therefore we can only build on sites with current electrical consumption.
These are just broad guidelines and don't let them discourage you from reaching out!
